Google Meet has introduced a new AI-powered feature called “Take Notes for Me,” which automatically captures and shares meeting notes. This feature, powered by Gemini AI, is now being rolled out to select Google Workspace users. Initially announced in September, it’s designed to make it easier for users to stay engaged during meetings while still keeping a record of key discussions and follow-ups.

What is “Take Notes for Me”?

“Take Notes for Me” is an AI-driven feature that automatically transcribes meeting notes and shares them with all participants. These notes are saved to the meeting owner’s Google Drive and are accessible to everyone on the calendar invite. Additionally, latecomers can use the “Summary So Far” feature to catch up on the meeting’s progress without disrupting the flow of the discussion.

How to Use “Take Notes for Me” on Google Meet

  • Create or join a meeting.
  • Click on “Take Notes with Gemini” located in the top right corner of the screen.
  • Everyone in the meeting will be notified that Gemini is taking notes.
  • Review your notes after the meeting to ensure all important information is captured.

Google highlights that this feature helps users stay more focused and present during meetings while ensuring that important information is accurately recorded for future reference. If meeting recordings and transcripts are also enabled, they will be linked directly within the notes document for easy access.
